Koo Kien Keat became a
National Elite Team player after emerging as the Winner of
the Malaysia Satellite in 2003. With determination to be a
world-classed player, he partnered Chan Chong Ming (former
National Team Player) in clinching several Major titles
from Year 2004-2006. His charismatic and humble
personality also makes him a popular and respected player
among the public and in the badminton tag heuer arena. His career
breakthrough came in 2006 when he had his new partner, Tan
Boon Heong, when they claim the Asian Games Gold Medal (a
long awaited medal from Men’s doubles after 33 years) and
subsequently clinching the Titles in All England and Swiss
Open in 2007. Their world ranking also rose steadily and
become World No.1 ranking by BWF in 2007. Since then Kien
Keat and Boon Heong is among the top 2 men’s doubles
players in the whole world.
